As a production team lead you coordinate a team of production operators and workers. You check that they follow the production procedures and the quality, health, safety and environmental rules, and together with your team you deliver products on schedule. Often called a line chief, shift leader or foreman, you consult the production orders, follow the production planning, draw up a staff schedule and check machines and stock. You control the application of manufacturing procedures, identify and resolve malfunctions, control product quality and draw up production and incident reports. In Vlaanderen this is a hands-on leadership role on the industrial shop floor.
