As a fire brigade sergeant you lead interventions for firefighting and emergency assistance. In Dutch the rank is also known as onderofficier brandweer, bevelvoerder brandweer or brandweeradjudant. As the first commanding officer on site you determine the intervention, mark out the intervention zone and draw up a provisional plan until the officer arrives.
