As a commercial diver you carry out dives for public works, maintenance, research, filming, rescue, salvage or military operations. You prepare every dive thoroughly, work underwater according to strict safety rules and provide assistance when needed. As a public works diver you repair quay walls and locks, for example, while as an underwater welder or ROV pilot you take on highly specialised assignments. Which diplomas or certificates do you need as a commercial diver?
You almost always need a recognised commercial diving certificate, together with a medical examination confirming you are fit to dive. Can you start as a commercial diver without experience?
