As a bricklayer you build walls with mortar or glue and place prefab elements and formwork. The trade is also known as a mason, and experienced bricklayers often grow into team leader roles on site. You set up the site, prepare the work and mix mortar and filler. You then carry out the masonry, point the joints and place prefab elements. Renovation work on structural masonry and building walls in natural stone can be part of the job as well. After the working day you help tidy the site. You follow the safety rules and work with respect for the environment, usually outdoors and in a team.
