What will you do?
You prepare the crane works, check the operation of your machine and put the crane into service safely. You move and hoist loads with great precision, secure the crane after the works and register the data of your assignments. Whether you drive a mobile crane, operate a telescopic handler or work as an overhead crane operator, safety always comes first.

Your foundation for this occupation
Choose training for the crane and environment. Mobile cranes, overhead cranes and other lifting equipment need distinct practice. Ask about supervised hours and assessment. A general certificate does not demonstrate competence on every machine.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Discuss the assignment with the crew and check prescribed information. Practise communication and precise positioning in a controlled training area. Confirm unclear instructions. Lift preparation and assessment belong to designated personnel.
Check your work
Perform assigned equipment checks and report deviations. Record relevant information and hand over issues. Reaching the destination is not the only outcome: work must follow the plan. Ask how operation and lift preparation responsibilities are divided.
How can you grow?
Specialise in equipment, larger projects or mentoring. Compare fixed workplaces and mobile jobs by travel, waiting and schedule. State experience per machine. Overhead-crane experience does not automatically qualify you on a mobile crane.
Frequently asked questions
Does one course cover every crane?
No. Equipment, use and surroundings differ. Training and practice must fit the assignment. Ask which machine you will operate and how induction is assessed.
